BENEFITING: American Heart Association
When I started to think about if I should do a fundraiser this year, I thought back on life to the things I'd done before. I also thought about the significance that this year holds for me. 20 years ago this July I lost my dad. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him, and wonder about what we would have done together if he had still been here all of these years. But we got to do so many cool things together so there will always be the great memories we shared. There was one trip that we took that didn't reach the summit. Literally. Our one attempt at climbing a 14er (Grays and Torreys peaks) was derailed when I got altitude sickness at about 13000 feet. I've held that trip as a regret that I'd never gotten all the way to the top with my dad. So this year I'm going to climb Grays and Torreys peaks on July 9, 2016. I'm using this as a chance to fundraise for the American Heart Association, so that we can help make it so that others don't have to go through the same tragedy that I did. Please consider donating to the cause, whether to cheer me on or to give in honor or memory of someone you love.
