Alzheimer's is a devastating disease that takes away so much life. More than 5.4 million American's suffer from this disease that currently has no cure. Alzheimer's is not just about memory loss, patients lose the ability to carry on a conversation and respond to their environment in the later stages. Patients lose their independence and cannot live the life they thought they would. While Alzheimer's patients can manage symptoms, the disease progressively worsens until it causes death making it the #6 cause of death in the US. Unfortunately, this disease runs in my family. 1 in 3 seniors will die of Alzheimer's effecting almost everyone in some shape or form.
I will be running the Dallas Marathon in December, but more importantly I hope to raise $500 for the fight against Alzheimer's. Your donation will help keep me going through bad and good training runs. Together, we can reduce the pain this disease causes for patients, caregivers and anyone effected by the disease. My hope is that someday in the near future this disease will come to an end.
