Join the Miles for Migraine 5K team in the 2016 San Francisco Marathon -- called "The most beautiful race course in the country" by Runner's magazine.
Sunday, July 31st 7:45 am to 9:00 am. Run the Embarcadero along the bay and the glory of the Bay Bridge.
Come to our booth at the SF Marathon Expo at Fort Mason on Friday, July 29th and Saturday, July 30th. Pick up your MFM t-shirt before race from us and say hello!
Walk or run the 5K with your friends and family. Dogs, kids, strollers are welcome! Turn around at any time. If you are not a walker or runner, ask a friend or family member to participate in your honor. Ask others to join the team.
We have limited spots in the Half and Full Marathon. Please sign up now to secure your place.
HOW IT WORKS : Enter your credit card info when you sign up. The minimum raise is $200, but you WILL NOT be charged at this time. If you raise $200 between now and July 17, your card never is charged. If not, then you will be charged the difference of what you don't raise. Also, the $200 INCLUDES your Registration fee for the race, so if you are running the 5K you are only being asked to raise $155.
Raise money for camps for kids, and for research to help find a cure for this debilitating disease. Yes, it is a disease. Let’s talk about migraine and create awareness so we can silence the stigma that is a burden surrounding migraine and other headache disorders.
Use this letter to send to friends and family to support your $200 min raise fundraising effort:

Will you please consider sponsoring a program that has a mission that is close to home for my family and me?
Miles for Migraine is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of patients with migraine, and their families, and ultimately to help find a cure. Migraines are not "just a headache", but a serious neurological disease which the WHO ranks among the top 20 causes in the world of years of healthy life lost to disability. With acute attacks ranging from mild to severely debilitating, migraine can over time, become progressive in both frequency and severity and has the potential to become a chronic condition with significant disability. In a 2004 report the WHO classified severe migraine in the highest category of disability along with quadriplegia and terminal stage cancer. Whatever the level of severity I can unfortunately tell you from personal experience that migraine profoundly impacts a sufferer’s life, self-esteem, family and livelihood.
Miles for Migraine produces a 5K/10K run and 2-Mile walk in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2008 to raise awareness and funding toward the severity of migraine. They are looking to expand their Race Series across the U.S. and I am in participating in the San Francisco Marathon race on July 31, 2016.
For more information about Miles for Migraine you can visit www.milesformigraine.com.
Miles for Migraine’s nonprofit tax ID is 01-0910791 and they produce one of the only migraine related runs in the United States. Please help us spread the message that migraine is not "just a headache".
Many thanks for your support.
