BENEFITING: Neurofibromatosis Incorporated Northeast
Our youngest son, Nathaniel, was diagnosed with NF-1 last year at 7-months of age. Neurofibromatosis is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that causes tumors to form on the nerves anywhere in or on the body at any time. Nat is doing very well and we hope that continues. Rather than wait idly, we choose to take action. We committed to raising $12,000 for NF Northeast in 2017. END NF!
Throughout 2017 I will be running (at least 1 mile per day) to raise funds to support NF Northeast, a non-profit founded in 1988 to find a treatment and cure for Neurofibromatosis by promoting scientific research, creating awareness, and supporting those who are affected by NF.
My first test came at the 121st running of the Boston Marathon on April 17 where NF Northeast has gave me the honor of representing them.
In Auguest, both Amy and I will be running the Falmouth Road Race representing NF Northeast. This will be Amy's longest run to date.
In October, I will take on my first 100 mile race at the Hennepin 100 near Chicago. This race will push me past my limits, but I believe and want to prove to Nat that anything is possible.
As we hope this never manifests into anything serious with Nat, there are many people with NF that need our help. Any / all support are greatly appreciated in raising awareness for and fighting this disease.
