BENEFITING: IT TAKES A VILLAGE CANINE RESCUE
Goal: Raise $$Money$$ for "It Takes a Village Canine Rescue" in Evansville (no-kill, nonprofit)
Why: My dad, my sister Jacey and I are running in our first 10-mile run in May (the Evansville River Run). No, it's not a half-marathon or marathon, but this is our first race outside of our 5K comfort zone! What better way to motivate us in the next couple of months then to raise money for a good cause while doing it!?!
Not to mention, my other sister, Raechel, is a foster mommy for dogs at her home through It Takes a Village -- and there is always a need for extra funds for vet bills, food and care -- the program works off donations only!
Plus, my 2-year-old mutt dog, Myla, is a rescue dog, and I know how valuable no-kill shelters are to save babies like her! There are plenty of other "Mylas" out there!
When: We have until May 17 -- the day of the race -- to raise the funds!
Who: You! Give as little as $10! Just remember, your donation is 100% tax deductible. Also, there is a 5 percent transaction charge that is taken by the website when you donate, but the rest goes directly into an account with It Takes a Village for them to use. NONE of the donations will go to us or to our running fees.
What: Visit It Takes a Village at http://itvrescue.org/ or at https://www.facebook.com/takesavillage
