Military Vet & family in need of urgent help
Organized by: Carlos Lopez
Hello everyone my name is Carlos Lopez, my wife Dayanira Lopez, and my two boys Dabian,7, & Sebastian 4. I am a US Army veteran who deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. While on deployment I was in an IED blast which caused me to develop TBI (traumatic brain injury) and PTSD along with several other complications. Due to my TBI which subsequently led to memory loss, I recently lost my drivers license for forgetting to pay a traffic ticket. I was in Omaha NE when my court date was scheduled getting help trying to find resources to assist me. I lost my job and all income and now we are all here in our living room, with my wife crying scared since we will be facing eviction soon if we cannot pay our rent. My two boys keep asking me if everything is ok and I have to lie and tell them yes. It's hard to admit but I'm genuinely scared. I've failed as the head of our household due to this illness. I'm currently in the process of fixing my license so that I may regain my job back. All of the financial assistance places for veterans here in California cannot help at the time since they have high volumes of people requesting help. I beg anyone that reads this to please help if they can.
