Mina Cup Challenge
Organized by: Linda Ben
A sad reality in our country and the entire continent is that about 60% of females cannot afford sanitary wear. This leaves them powerless and embarrassed .Every month they miss an average of 5 days of school which is about 50 days a year. The absence from school perpetuates the problem of illiteracy which ultimately leads to unemployment. I want to play my part by bringing hope to the lives of these young girls. I need help to raise funds for a minimum of 40 Mina cups to help 40 girls on my 40th birthday. Mina cup is a menstrual cup made of medical grade silicone. It is easy to clean, safe to use, comfortable, holds up to three times the fluid that an average tampon can and lasts up to 5 years. Each cup costs R200 (about $15). We have the power to help girls stay in school, get educated and change their story.
