For low-income students in Boston, hard-working plus high-achieving doesn't always equal opportunity. Minds Matter is working to change that, and I'm honored to be a part of the program as the Junior Class Head.
Minds Matter’s mission is to transform the lives of accomplished high school students from low-income families by preparing them for college success. Our students maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and come from families with less than $30,000 a year in household income.
Minds Matter is a three year program that offers its students a combination of individualized mentor support, professional ACT instruction, and access to top-tier academic summer programs. Since opening its doors in 2003, 100% of Minds Matter graduating seniors have gained admission to four-year colleges.
