I joined Minds Matter this past year to help with a cause that is very near to me -- helping bridge the education gap between low-income and more affluent students. Growing up in Manhattan, it was impossible not to notice how dramatically different educational expectations and outcomes were from one neighborhood to another.
To me, Minds Matter does two remarkable things to help high school students from low-income familes: 1) it gives them tacit permission and openly encourages them to dream big and 2) it gives them the tools needed to help realize those dreams.
My mentee, Frances, is an absolute rockstar. I feel very lucky to work with her and am incredibly excited to see what she does next. Please help support Frances and her unbelievably talented group of peers.
