HARK! The most charitable time of the year is upon us once again. And with that comes the annual Minds Matter Fundraiser.
Most of you were introduced to my mentee - William - last year. William has come a long way since then. He attended the Boston University Summer Challenge, he has gotten his license, and, most importantly, his hair has gotten even fresher (I didn't think it was possible either).
This year, we will be working with William on ACT prep amongst many other things. We will be applying to summer programs once again and learning how to form effective arguments. William might also be trying out for his high school's baseball team!
More information on the program in general is below. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer them. Any and all donations will help fund this incredible program!
For low-income students in Boston, hard-working plus high-achieving doesn't always equal opportunity. Minds Matter is changing that.
Minds Matter’s mission is to transform the lives of accomplished high school students from low-income families by broadening their dreams and preparing them for college success.
Minds Matter is a three year program that offers its students a combination of individualized mentor support, professional ACT instruction, and access to top-tier academic summer programs. The stats speak for themself. Since opening its doors in 2003, 100% of Minds Matter graduating seniors have gained admission to four year- colleges.
