Dear Friend:

Kyle and I are putting up $3,000 and I'm hoping to triple that amount for the amazing students of Minds Matter of Los Angeles. With your help.

As you may know, I've served on the board of Minds Matter of Los Angeles since its inception three years ago and pioneered the concept back in New York 20+ years ago. Its amazing to see this new chapter grow and prosper with its first group of graduates this year. Our seniors are beaming with self-esteem and ready to take on the world. And I know they will .....

Since 2010, we've tripled the size of MMLA and need to triple again. The need is great. The only thing that stands in our way is money and volunteers. We have a 100% track records getting our kids to matriculate to college.

What do the kids in our program get. Two mentors. A team of counselors, teachers, and advisors. Two great summer academic experiences. SAT Prep. Extra math. Critical Thinking. Debate. Writing Skills. Study skills. Interview Skills. Inspirational Speakers. Lots of support from a whole community routing for their success.

Our students are all low-income but hardworking with great academic potential. Average family income - $22,000 a year.

We are changing their odds of success by boosting their skills BEFORE they go off to college. So they can be successful once they are there.

All you need to do is here the story about David Boone. This past summer, David was featured a "2012 Change Maker" by Black Entertainment Television. David at age 14 refused to join a gang. That gang torched his home, leaving him to sleep on streets. His principal recommended him to Minds Matter and after a summer stint at MIT, David is now a freshman at Harvard studying engineering with a Gates Millenium Scholarship. Life changed. Help us find and transform the life of the next David.

For more:

Did you know that a college graduate makes $1,000,000 more over their lifetime than a high school graduate alone? For a small investment in our high school students, the benefits will be reaped for many years to come.

I would appreciate you joining Kyle and I and donating to MMLA this year! Plus Save the Date - February 28th for our ANNUAL GALA at The Mark, in Santa Monica.

Thanks for your time, consideration, attention and hopefully money,
Leanne Huebner
