I'm running to raise money for Minds Over Matter, a foundation at Mount Sinai that supports young adults with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). The organization was started by Bryan Steinhauer, who suffered a TBI at the age of 22 and has since gone on to run the NYC marathon for the past several years.
Aside from Bryan's courageous story, the organization's mission resonated me because of the work my company, Quartet Health, is doing. The impact we're making for individuals with mental health conditions and other diseases of the brain is profound, and I'm eager to support other organizations striving to create better healthcare outcomes for those who need it.
My fundraising goal for Minds Over Matter is $2,620, representing the 26.2 miles I'll be running. I will also personally match any contributions above my fundraising target with 100% of my contribution going toward New York Presbyterian, where a friend and classmate of mine, Andrew Eldredge, was treated after suffering a traumatic brain injury before passing away in August.
