Minidoka Baseball Exhibit
Organized by: Parksmith Exhibits Media
Contribute and help share the history of the internment of Japanese Americans. As part of the effort to rebuild “Center Field” at Minidoka NHS, the Friends of Minidoka are seeking contributions for the creation of two interpretive waysides. The goal of the the waysides is to give visitors a better understanding of how a simple game—like baseball—became an essential component to the health and well-being of the Nikkei. “Center Field” was one of 14 baseball/softball fields at Minidoka War Relocation Center. We plan to have more than just a feature in the cultural landscape for people to look at. The plan is for visitors to be able to play baseball/softball on the field from a simple game of catch to exhibition games.
