BENEFITING: Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault
The Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MNCASA) provides support and assistance to sexual assault advocacy programs, allied professionals, and communities throughout Minnesota. With more than 60 member programs serving victims/survivors, our primary goal is to be a catalyst in changing society’s attitudes toward sexual violence and the systems, policies, and procedures that may further victimize survivors. MNCASA advances the primary prevention of sexual violence in Minnesota through programs and policies.
Our vision is an end to sexual violence, a public health issue that disproportionately affects women and children. We acknowledge the links between sexual violence and forms of oppression that target vulnerable populations in our society. Victims/survivors of sexual violence experience the effects of the harm in all aspects of their lives, including their physical, emotional, sexual, and spiritual health and well-being. All people should live free from the threat of sexual violence!
Love is the expression of compassion for our whole beings and the whole beings of others. Love is respecting the choices and autonomy of others. At MNCASA we believe in promotion of a culture that acknowledges sexual health as a component of the overall health and well-being of the individual and society. Sexual health acknowledges the importance of mutuality and respect when entering into a sexual relationship with a person who can freely and knowledgeably give their consent.
