BENEFITING: MIRACLE LEAGUE OF MASSACHUSETTS
EVENT DATE: Jun 17, 2012
At its core, the Miracle League of Massachusetts is an all volunteer, non-profit organization that gives children with disabilities a chance to play baseball as part of a team in an organized league at no cost to their family. But it's really so much more...
My 6 years old son has hearing loss. He plays in Miracle League of MA and he loves it. Every time I watch the game, I learn something from these lovely children. I saw kids in wheelchair rolling hard, dashing ahead; I saw kids discouraged by typical sport settings, became confident and encouraged each others; I saw kids with Autism smiled and made eye contact to volunteers they never met before ... Miracles happen in each game.
League games are currently played at the Blanchard Elementary School in Boxborough and limited by safety concerns and scheduling constraints. To raise money for the construction of the first Miracle League field in Massachusetts, both my boys (age 6 and 10) will run in the 1st Annual 5K Miracle League Run and Walk on June 17, 2012. Please sponsor them!
