Miracles of god Alison's gift
Organized by: Nayeli Gomez
My daughter Alison was born at Levine's children's hospital on 4/2/13 she was only 25.3 weeks she weight 1lb 12oz,she was rush to the NICU and I didn't see her for 2 days. (I was very sick) when I fanally was able to see her, she was inside an isolet had a bunch of wires and was wearing a mask for oxigen. It was a very sad day. I was finally able to touch her 5 days after she was born. They let me hold her and the nurse was vey nice and explain everything to me so well that because of her I was calm. 5 days later the nurse that was taking care of her that day notice her belly was to big, she called the Nurse Practicioner right away. They took some xrays and the NP walk to me and say your daughter is very sick we need to do surgery or she will die. I colapse but the doctor's and nurses help me so much as I was crying they explain to me that one of the medicine they were giving her to close a vein thatbis near the heart made a perforation on her intestine. The surgery went well, but she had fever and they did some test only to find out that she had NECK is a disease that kills babies. They started her on some medicine that save her life. The nurses and all the staff at Levine's make me overcome all of this. they started to feed her 1 week after she was feeling better she was eating but she had no stool the doctor's told me they need it to do a test on her but she need it to be a little bit older so it took another 3 weeks. They finally did a study with contrast and they diagnose that she had Malrotation (her intestines were twisted) they schedule her for a surgery I was so worried the surgery took 4 hrs but it when well. All this roller-coaster has been very stressful and overwhelming if it wasn't it for the nurses I will not know how I would have overcome all of this. We got move to progressive unit on 6/12/15 the eye doctor came to check Alison's eyes, she was diagnose ROP PLUS DISEASE her veins on her eyes weren't growing all the way out and they were also getting big. Ahe need it eye surgery ao that she would have at least her central vision. So for her 3moth old birthday she got her surgery done on 7/2/15. She is doing so much veter now and she is going to be going home soon. The money will be to buy the nurses something to showthem how grateful I'm. They have been my daughter's mother's, they have been my shoulder to cry, they have been my teachers. They deserve to know that they are amazing. Thanks for reading my story.
