Mishka's Recovery Fund
Organized by: Victor Menezes
Alina and I adopted Mishka from the New York City shelter in September of 2014 and we fell in love with him immediately. He started as a little kitten of three months weighing just over 2 pounds (Yes he was skinny) and has now grown to well over 9 pounds and is very vocal with us with his constant "Meeeer." He now learned to fetch and is very playful. We are told the problem is that before we adopted him, Mishka suffered a "blunt trauma" where his baby tooth got pushed up along with his adult canine. Over time his baby tooth fell out but his canine stayed jammed in his nasal cavity which created big problems. If he does not get the surgery he over time will lose his other teeth on the right side and possibly his vision as the tooth is dangerously close to his eye. Our vet who is overseeing Mishka's care told us that this is above his expertise and that we would need to consult a specialist. His parting words to us were: "What I can tell is, it won't be inexpensive." He was right, we need to raise $3000 for Mishka's surgery. Alina and I love our kitty Mishka so much, but without this operation his wellbeing is in serious trouble. As two undergraduate students we could barely afford the cost of having the vet run the X-Ray along with the anesthesia. Without your help Mishka will forgo a life saving operation and our "demo version" will be very sick. I thank you all just for reading our story and for keeping Mishka in your prayers. Thank you.
