EVENT DATE: Apr 28, 2017
When I was first asked to dress up and perform in drag, my initial reaction was HELL NO! However, when I found out it came with the opportunity to raise funds for a charity of my choice, I opted in. Plus, I took a look at the competition, and they have some years on me so I thought the chances of this fine young lady winning it all were pretty good :)
Growing up, I was always involved in sports and the guidance of my coaches and discipline instilled in me through being a young athlete are still a big part of who I am today. Although my personal goals have transitioned from playing semi-pro hockey to other aspirations, I am so grateful for the lessons given to me because I had the opportunity to play sports. For that reason, I have chosen the Athletics for Kids Financial Assistance (BC) Society. The Society's mission is to "work diligently and thoughtfully in providing financially disadvantaged youth in the community with greater access to organized sport", and I would love to suppor their cause!
In order to participate in the show, I have to raise at least $250 in pledges, but I am hoping to raise even more - all funds go to my charity! Plus, the winner of the competition gets the event proceeds donated to their charity so there is an opportunity to raise a significant amount of $!
I am putting myself on the line by dressing in drag and performing in front of hundreds of people and I am hoping for your support in pledging me a small amount using this website and/or coming out to cheer me on April 28th at the Imperial!
