Mission Motel Move-Out: With a Little Help & a Lot of Prayer
Organized by: Walker-Simelton Family
EVENT DATE Aug 20, 2016
As some of you may or may not know, we have spent the last year living in a motel room trying to find a permanent place to live. We know we've had financial issues in the past ast causing this situation, which we have diligently been trying to improve, but has hindered our ability to find adequate housing. We also felt that our financial mistakes were no reason for us to settle just to be forced to have our children live in unsafe environments with the potential to negatively impact them as they develop who they are. It seems as though our patience and hard work is finally paying off with just one more hurdle to overcome. We have finally found a spacious, affordable apartment in Chesterfield with a landlord who is willing to overlook some of our past mistakes and allow us the opportunity to move-in. Because of the high weekly rate we've had to pay to live at the motel, it's been hard to put money aside and we're short of what we need. We know we've been blessed in the past and feel humbled every time we have to ask for help, but after this past year we've had, I can't even express how much this would mean for us!! For Caspian and Luci to be able to have their own space, Kenny able to give his last year of school the focus needed, and greatly lessen the amount of stress I feel on a daily basis, would be a year's worth of prayers being answered!! If we can raise the remaining amount we need by the end of the week to avoid paying any more for the motel, that would be truly amazing!! Thank you in advance for your generosity, as it is appreciated beyond words!!!
