Last year I had the opportunity to go to Kenya with my Dad on a two week mission trip through Real4Christ Ministries. I was privileged to experience my first mission trip in that beautiful country. I was beyond blessed for getting to experience the rich culture. The things I learned, saw, and experienced will forever stay in my heart! Getting to experience the walk home from school with the kids and seeing their homes was such an eye opener while at the same time beautiful! Seeing how happy the kids were without having any electronics let alone toys (if they did have toys they were ones they made from trash--sticks, bottle caps, etc.), was a reminder that you don't need stuff to be happy. They were happy just playing with each other. Also seeing 6 and 7 year olds, even 5 yr olds, taking care of their younger brothers/sisters while their parents worked or were sick was a shock.
I went evangelizing for the first time and loved it. It was scary thinking about doing it for the first time, but after the first time you are ready to do more! Church in Kenya is definitely not the same as church at my home church of First Baptist of Denton.
I am so thankful for the friends I made both in the states and Kenya! Even before I got back home, I knew that I definitely wanted to go back in 2014.
My Mom and Dad are also going to Kenya from June 11th - June 23rd, with the focus of doing medical related things, the team will assist them as well as working with the children, hosting Bible School, games, and so on.
I need your help in making this possible! Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated! Every little bit helps!
