BENEFITING: Community Christian Church of Sterling Heights
EVENT DATE: Jan 15, 2016
As many of you know, Sam and I have been working with an organization in Cambodia since 2013. Cambodia is one of poorest and most oppressed nations in the world. In the short times we have been there, we have seen poverty, hunger, human trafficking, abuse and lack of education with our own eyes. It is a difficult place to visit, but an even more difficult place to live. In our partnership with EAI (http://www.eaipower.org/) and our home church, Community Christian Church (http://www.cccsterling.org/) we have seen HOPE brought to Cambodia! This HOPE has been brought through fresh water wells, a school and church, school supplies, love and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
On January 15th -27th Sam and I will be returning to Cambodia with a team of 6 passionate Community Christian Church members to bring more Hope! On this trip we will be:
o encouraging and equipping the local church leaders and members in Cambodia through a worship and creative art conference and education on leadership. We will work with Church leaders throughout this country reaching 3 of the 23 Cambodian provinces
o helping prevent and fight human trafficking in Cambodia. We will do this through lessons on protection, warning signs and most importantly lessons on how God sees us. We are all valuable and worthy children of God and we believe when a parent sees the value in their child they will not sell their child. We will pass out educational materials and cards for people to utilize if they or someone they know is in danger.
o providing essential needs through health care kits, fresh water, shoes, and education.
o bringing continued HOPE to Cambodia. We hope to reach thousands of Cambodians for Jesus through outreaches, 2 kids’ camps, prayer, love and encouragement for a broken nation.
Sam and I along with our team are in need of a few things.
First and foremost we need your prayers. Please pray for open hearts and minds during this trip. Pray that God will go before our team and make a way in this beautiful yet broken nation. Pray for the people of Cambodia that they would gain new understanding of what love and care looks and feels like. Please pray for our team, their children and families and for peace and wisdom as we go forward in this mission.
Second, we hope you will prayerfully consider donating to this trip. You can do so on this Crowdrise page or by sending a check to Sam and I made out to Community Christian Church with our names in the memo section. All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a year-end statement.
We are so appreciative of all of the support we have received over the years for this cause and know that without the support, love and prayers of many of you, these things would not have happened! You are a part of this important work!
