THE STORY:

I am raising funds for my basketball team The Mission Vista Timberwolves. I recently was asked to takeover a basketball program with huge, unrealized potential, and take it to the next level. Breathe life and teach the game of basketball to a group of kids whose whole lives has been built around learning. Whether in class or on the court, my players are learning. What comes with learning is experiences. The last four years my players have not had the chance to experience playing high school basketball on a competitive level. No opportunity to travel to play games, or experience the game as it was meant to be played. My school was originally put in place to create an academically-strong campus setting for kids who could step outside of the box and dream big. Mission Vista is the only school in our district without guaranteed district funding for team sports, and I have a highly talented, not to mention tall, group of eager young men, many of them incoming seniors, their last year in high school. I am seeking your help, your assistance, your persistence in allowing my student-athletes to experience basketball in a proper competitive setting. My athletes are students first. Out of the forty-four student-athletes in my program, I have had the pleasure to witness 93% of them carry a 4.2 or higher GPA(Grade Point Average) since freshman year. I want to give them something special, an experience of a season they will remember and cherish for years to come. Since I took over as head coach, I have sunk every nickel I can into this basketball program in order for these students to have something they have never had. The money that will be raised will go to pay for new uniforms, warm up track suits, equipment, MONEY for meals after games. The funds will be dedicated to helping these young men travel and have transportation to and basketball games. Some of the proceeds will go to giving my three assistant coaches a little spending money. I asked them at the beginning if they would follow me for free and they obliged. At Mission Vista boys basketball, we are a family and I want to do right for my family. Anything you can spare will be greatly needed and appreciated.  It's time to move these boys forward.

DONATION: $50

I can't hardly believe my grandson has made his first college visit thanks to the encouragement from his new coach. It shows me the coach is focusing not just on athletics but on these young men's futures. I am more than happy to donate. 3 years ago
