The mission of the Community Cancer Center is to increase cancer survivorship in central Illinois. To accomplish that, we need to assure our Radiation Department can make use of the most up-to-date equipment. One important piece of equipment is a PET/CT. Our current one is 10 years old. In order to keep pace with technology, the Community Cancer Center will need to replace it with a new one.
We’re lovingly calling the new PET/CT “Mister Hula.” The idea arose because patients enter the machine through a round opening and the scanner circles the patient like a hula hoop. The Community Cancer Center made a promise to provide leading edge comprehensive cancer care for years to come. Help us bring Mister Hula to the Community Cancer Center so we can continue to fulfill that promise.
