Mit Jyu 2016 fundraising campaign
Organized by: Pemi Nguyen
The earthquake on April 25th in Nepal and its aftershocks have destructed hundreds of residential and community constructions in Gerkhu. Although there are some attempts, the government’s efforts are not enough in its reconstruction plan. As a result, earthquake victims in the village are worried on how to make the reconstructions cost effective, comparatively stronger and less complicated within their financial capacity. Southeast Asian Service Leadership Network (a registered 501c(3) non-profit) and Youth Thinkers' Society in Nepal collaborated on a sustainable development project that brings together youths from around Southeast Asia and Nepal. Through the 2-weeks project, the team will work together with the villagers in Gerkhu to develop sustainable materials for reconstruction work.
