WOOO HOOO! We hit our goal... but can we go higher with just a few hours left?

Your donation dollar is powerful and makes a big impact when you give warmth through MIttens for Detroit. Your generosity makes a significant difference in the daily lives of children and adult in Detroit, Michigan, by warming hands and hearts.
Working with our product partner Michigan's Broner Hat & Glove, we are able to leverage your gift to go much farther than your purchasing dollar can. A donation of at least $35 will warm the hands of 5 adults in Detroit this winter with new mittens and gloves - new, warm mittens and gloves that would retail for $20 and more.
We are a small nonprofit, with a huge impact - 168,000 pairs collected and distributed in the first 6 years of operation. How does Mittens for Detroit work? We are a nonprofit that collects, purchases and distributes new mittens and gloves to children and adults in need in Detroit and other underserved communities. We do this with the help of nearly 100 partner charities, organizations, agencies, and schools, who distribute the thousands of pairs donated each year. This season's goal is 55,000 pairs. Last year 63,000 new pairs were donated.
Mittens for Detroit operates under the fiscal sponsorship of the Kids Like Us!, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations are tax-deductible, and will process through Kids Like Us!
Mittens for Detroit was founded in 2010 by actress Erin Cummings (Astronaut Wives Club, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Madoff) when she lived in Metro Detroit while working on Detroit 1-8-7. In its first six years, MFD collected and purchased more than 168,000 new pairs of mittens and gloves, distributing them to close to 100 partner agencies, including Alternative for Girls, The Children’s Center of Wayne County, COTS, Covenant House of Michigan, Capuchin Soup Kitchen, the Michigan Veterans Foundation, and Detroit, Hamtrack, and Highland Park schools. A partial listing of charity partners can be found at MittensForDetroit.org/PARTNERS.
Public collection boxes are in more than 180 locations this year, October 1st through January 31st. Please visit our website for more information, please - www.MittensForDetroit.org.
