BENEFITING: World Vision USA
EVENT DATE: Aug 01, 2014
To bring more meaning to an ordinary birthday of just an ordinary girl.
As some of you know, my 22nd birthday is just around the corner (in about a week) and A LOT of people have been asking me what I want for my birthday. After some time, I started thinking of ways I can make this birthday not about me because personally, I don't think that this day is THAT special. In my opinion, the special treatment should be for my mom 'cause she's the one who gave birth to me on that day after all.
Anyways, I was thinking of ways I could give back to the community (or the world for that matter) so that this day could have a little more meaning than just my birth and was able to come up with a fundraiser after being inspired by a friend who did the same for his birthday.
For those who don't know, I have two sponsor children in Africa: Andre and Domohire. Using the children as my main motivation and inspiration, I've decided to create this fundraiser and donate all the proceeds to World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization whose goal is to fight poverty and injustice by working with children and families worldwide. (For more information on World Vision, visit worldvision.org)
THIS WOULD MEAN SOOOOO MUCH TO ME! I will not take any offense if you do not choose to partake in this! I know that the goal of the fundraiser is a lot, but I will be forever grateful to every penny we could raise for the children in need whether we meet the goal or not!
Even if you cannot or choose not to donate, please keep the children and families in need in your prayers!
I'm planning to keep this fundraiser open until the end of the month so there is no rush! If you have any more questions or just want to know more about my sponsor children (or just boring me), feel free to message me!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR READING AND THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT!(:
