BENEFITING: Rollins College
In rural Doti, Nepal, children lack access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation. Last year, I traveled there with a group of Rollins students and implemented one of the only two clean water sources in the entire village. Dirty water and lack of toilets greatly affects health, causing students to have to stay home from school. Parasites from contaminated water can also cause stunting and poor mental development as children's bodies are unable to absorb the nutrients they need. Clean water is a basic human right, and every penny raised will go towards water filtration systems in Doti. For every $10 raised, about 14 people benefit.
