MLK Legacy Center, Champion of Truth Brick Paver for Mose
Organized by: APRIL JONES
The Dexter Avenue King Memorial Legacy Center in Montgomery, AL is hosting a campaign to support the building of a statue for Martin Luther King, Jr. The sponsorship goal for a brick paver in honor of Mose Jones, Jr., Lawrence County Commissioner of District 1 is 5,000. Let's lay at the feet of Dr. MLK the engraved name of a man who shared King's dream as a child and who went on to make a difference in his county by helping with economic development, infrastructure, grants, bridge and road repairs over three decades for all constituents. Let's not let his local level work go untold, let's make a mark for our untold Alabama political leaders. Through a class action lawsuit based on the premises of the Voter's Right Act of 1965, counties in Alabama was redistrict to give all people, especially African Americans, the opportunity to obtain no just political offices...but any elected office. Thanks to the ADC and the courageous men who stood for Lawrence County Rev. Arthur Turner, Hoover White, and Mose Jones Jr. so that we too could have equal opportunity. Thanks for your sacrifice Dr. King that gave us courage to continue the walk for equal opportunity as well.
