Did you know that up to 1 in 5 women will suffer from a maternal mental health issue such as post-partum depression & anxiety? Others suffer from post-partum psychosis. All of these issues have the ability to end tragically for mom, baby & family. Even wihtout a tragedy, the suffering these women & families endure is heartbreaking in itself. Why do women continue to feel alone in their struggles?
I am an advocate for many things involving pregnancy and infant loss, and there is no greater loss than that of a women who has lost hope. Hope for herself, hope for her child(ren) and hope for her life. Maternal Mental Health is the #1 complication of pregnancy, but its not recognized nearly enough, wth catastrophic results. Help me raise awareness and continue the work that 2020 Mom is doing to rasise awareness about matneral mental health disorders in our community and combating the stigma that goes with it.
As a bonus, 2020 Mom will also make a donation to our local March of Dimes chapter on this team's behalf - So you are supporting 2 wonderful organizations at once!
The walk will be at Village Green Park in Plainfield and starts at 8:00m. I will email team members with more information as the date gets closer.
