Help Mammoth Medical Missions send a team of trained medical volunteers and support staff to the highlands of Chiapas, one of the poorest and most vulnerable regions in Mexico, where we will provide no-cost elective surgeries for the indigenous population and skills-training for local medical providers.
This will be our 4th medical mission to the region since 2009 and the first to include intensive skills-training for local providers in rural obstetrics, austere emergency room skills, mass casualty and disaster medicine, orthopedic and general surgery support, and physical therapy.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: Our dedicated volunteers not only donate their highly-specific skills to these projects. They also pay or raise money to cover their own travel expenses; they take vacation time from their jobs; they put themselves in uncertain situations; and their families and co-workers take on extra responsibility at home. Your donations help alleviate the financial burden on these individuals who give so much of themselves to others.
Partner organizations for this year's mission include Rotary Club of Bishop Sunrise, Rotary Club of Bishop, Rotary Club of Tuxtla Gutierrez, Secretaria de Salud del Estado de Chiapas, DIF Regional de Chiapas, Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas (UNACH), Secretaria de Protección Civil del Estado de Chiapas, Mammoth Hospital, Northern Inyo Hospital, Direct Relief International, InterpretAmerica, and Synthes Orthopedic.
