THE STORY:

Personnel working in hazardous environments and individuals that are responsible for the safety and effective rescue from these environments are typically required to carry with them a large number of task specific devices.

Currently, each operation contains a unique user interface with multiple devices requiring the user to learn specific sets of interactions. These task specific devices are paramount to the safe and effectiveness of an operation within these hazardous conditions. Frequently the information of these devices provided are life saving in nature yet are cumbersome and at times not user friendly.

With the innovative M.E.R.C.U, a single wireless voice recognition and integrated retinal displayed would reduce all the interaction and exponentially increase safety.

Keep in mind that these technology already exist yet not in the format or array that I have design it to be or effectively to work.

The challenges we face with our project are;

To reduce the end-users’ need to learn a large number of different interactions for all the different task specific devices they might carry with them into a hazardous environment.

To reduce the end-users’ need to directly interact with the task specific devices.

To reduce the on-going training of the end-users as the task specific devices are migrated from one generation of device to another, whether the migration occurs at the hardware, firmware, software, or across all of these levels of the device.

To simplify the use of these task specific devices, and thereby, have easier more robust and sharable access to the life saving and operational data provided by these task specific devices.
