BENEFITING: UNICEF USA
EVENT DATE: Aug 06, 2014
Friends in NYC,
Better late than never! Here are the details I promised a couple of weeks ago...
- Join me at 8:30 Wednesday night (8/6/14) for dinner at Fig & Olive, where DJ Nicole Rose will be spinning chic beats, and we'll hopefully be joined by many of my #Champagning! friends I've made since arriving on the NYC scene...
- ...Or come after for drinks at The Raven, 10:45/11pm+. Ask for "Mo Ghanta birthday" at the door.
For my big birthday milestone, I choose to accept donations in lieu of gifts to one of my favorite charities, UNICEF, i.e. the United Nations Children's Fund!
They help children in need with medicine, education, ending poverty/discrimination, and provide aid for a host of other social issues.
UNICEF is in 190 countries/territories, advancing the rights and meeting the needs of the most vulnerable populations of children, worldwide. They are in the hot zones of the world, from Gaza to Syria to South Sudan, and I'm asking you to make a donation today, no matter how small. Although their scope is vast, so is their reach, as they are backed by the UN and all its NGO partners, to marshall resources on a large scale, for items especially dear to me: combatting child trafficking, child brides, mutilation, malnutrition, and sheltering war refugees. Thanks in advance!
More from UNICEF:
We believe that nurturing and caring for children are the cornerstones of human progress. UNICEF was created with this purpose in mind – to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path. We believe that we can, together, advance the cause of humanity.
