Welcome to Captain Mollie’s fundraising page to support the efforts of Ainsley’s Angels of Mississippi, a local non-profit resulting from the partnership of myTEAM Triumph and Ainsley's Angels of America!
Special Message from Mollie’s Mom:
As most parents are helping their children plan for prom, graduations, and which colleges to attend, we follow the same routine on a daily basis. This routine hasn't changed much over the years as our daughter, Mollie, has gotten older. There was a time when she went everywhere with us because she was easy to carry and people willingly accommodated us. As she has grown older, gotten heavier, and uses a much larger wheelchair, it's just not that easy anymore. A lot of times it's just easier to stay home. It's hard to look around and seeing life just seem to pass you by year after year. I have been praying for a very long time about how to get Mollie more involved in the community. The way our story has unfolded over the last month is all God's doing...so He deserves the glory.
My husband and I have really just begun to struggle with the lifting of our 18 year old daughter who has been diagnosed with a multitude of things, but most would understand if we just use the most understood terminology, cerebral palsy. She does not walk, does not talk, and has to have total physical care. She will always need a caregiver. We feel as though, that is our job to do and no one else's. So, we figured that we really need to get our health together to make sure we are well to take care of our children for a very long time.
I got involved with about 60 women in our local area that were working together to eat right and choose a more healthy lifestyle involving our food choices. I posted on Facebook about our new changes we were planning. I immediately received an inbox message from a friend of mine wanting to hold me accountable. At the end of the message, she mentioned to check out Ainsley's Angels and that if we were interested, our Mollie could be included. This was an answer to my prayer and the more I read about this group the more excited I got. I contacted them and the next thing I knew, things started rolling, and now, our Mollie is going to get to participate in 5ks, 10ks, and even a half marathon. She will be a "captain" and be pushed by an angel. She will get to experience the act of running a race. She will be rolling in the wind....FREE! At the finish line, you will not hear her say thank you or wow that was great. You will see a smile from ear to ear, arms waving, and she'll give you a big high five!
I am so excited and thankful for a group of people who were obedient to God in following a call on their lives because now that has trickled down to this precious little gal in Terry, Ms. Special people like our Mollie, are just that.....people. She deserves a spot in life, too, you know? Ainsley's Angels will help do that. We all want our children to succeed and be recognized......what a blessing to know this is coming true for Mollie! Thank you to "my" two angels who got this going for Mollie.....Terri and Chrisanna......your obedience has blessed my family!
Thank you for making life exciting for us once again!
YES YOU CAN, donate 10, 20 or 50 dollars right now to help Ainsley’s Angels of Mississippi continue to ensure all can roll with the wind and experience the thrill of crossing a road race finish line!
Click the orange button in the upper right of this page or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for a link to make a donation using PayPay and/or for a mailing address should you prefer to donate by check. We will ensure all donations appear on this page as off-line donations.
We are an athletic ride-along program created for children, teens, adults and veterans who would normally not be able to experience endurance events such as triathlons or road races. Visit our website for more information! Since we currently do not have any membership fees for our Captains (those we push) or our Angels (those who push), our mission is dependent on your support. Among the things donations will be used for include: purchasing an enclosed equipment trailer; maintaining/purchasing jogger chairs, bike trailers, and boat rafts; purchasing team uniforms; ensuring all Captains never pay for a single event, and continuing to provide for the best events possible for our Captains and their families! We also aim to support local special needs schools, programs, and organizations, while also offering an annual out-of-area trip/race for our special rider athletes.
Another way to help, is to spread the word of our message and efforts:

Who is Ainsley?
Ainsley does not talk or walk; she does not play for fun; but she smiles, while out for a run. An inspiration to thousands, she is an amazing little girl with a smile that will light up any room. Shortly after being diagnosed with an extremely rare progressive genetic nerve disorder called Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD), Ainsley completed the Surfer's Healing Virginia Beach 5K road race. Her first of many running-aided, wind-induced smiles took our family's collective breath away as she received her finisher's medal and became an official Team Hoyt Virginia Beach (THVB) ATHLETE! Inspired by Dick and Rick Hoyt, and the only running team authorized by the Hoyt's to use their name, THVB provided Ainsley's family with a therapeutic means to fight the devastation associated with learning and trying to live with the fact that your child has a terminal illness. The positive energy surrounding the start line, the children smiling from ear to ear, the togetherness of every member preparing to "roll with the wind", the fearlessness of the athletes, the normalcy of the family, and the love we all have for each other is a therapy like no other. In an effort to spread this amazing experience to as many people as possible, Ainsley's Angels aims to see other families experience what the Hoyt's have experienced 1100 times and what we have experienced 60 times. As such, we created this chapter of myTEAM Triumph: Ainsley’s Angels to ensure others can "roll with the wind" and live up to the philosophy of, "Yes You Can."
