BENEFITING: The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
EVENT: Team HITW NYC Marathon 2016
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
A few months back I had a crazy idea that I simply could not shake...to run the NYC Marathon. When would I take on this incredible feat? Decidedly now. Why? A better question is why not. Two years ago, I had metal bars put in my chest to help increase my lung capacity and improve my quality of life. What was once a weakness of mine is now a strength; a strength I have an opportunity to pay forward by running for Team Hole in the Wall.
The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is a haven that provides seriously ill children and their families with a community that ensures all the simple joys of being a kid. It was founded in 1988 by Paul Newman with one simple premise in mind: that every child, no matter their illness, could experience the transformational spirit and friendships that go hand-in-hand with camp.
By donating, you will help provide "a different kind of healing" to more than 25,000 seriously ill children and family members throughout the Northeast.
Come November 6th, I am running 26.2 miles to help sick children and their families escape the world of hospitals and medicine to enjoy time "just being a kid". Please help me reach my goal to give children the chance they deserve...to raise a little hell, and have a lot of fun!!!
