Postpartum Progress’ Climb Out of the Darkness® (COTD) is the world’s largest event raising awareness of maternal mental illnesses. Every year on or near the Summer Solstice (the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere), teams of mothers and their supporters gather to climb out of the darkness by walking, climbing or hiking together to help shine the most light on maternal mental illness and raise funds to support the work of Postpartum Progress. North Shore, MA will participate in the 2016 COTD at 10 am on Saturday June 18, 2016, at the entrance to Willowdale Estate, 24 Asbury St, in Topsfield. We'll meet at 9:30 for paperwork and a free tour of the Willowdale Estate, before heading into Bradley Palmer State Park at 10 for a short, family (and single jogging stroller) friendly walk.
Postpartum Progress is a nonprofit that creates healthier families by raising awareness, reducing stigma, providing social support and connecting mothers to help for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders like postpartum depression.
