Hi, I'm Molly! Please support me as I raise money for the orphans at La Tribu de Jesus (Jesus Tribe) orphanage in La Gloria, Mexico. It is a very poor orphanage, and the conditions are extremely tough as they get no government funding. The donations they do receive barely cover enough for their food and utilities, and there is no extra money to cover the extra items that are needed. Through my project, "Molly's Hope Chest", I am planning on raising enough money for one of these extra types of things that they can't afford to do, but that they must do.
My hope is to purchase personal shelf/drawer units for the 70-80 kids that live there. Not only is it special as the orphans will soon have a place to store their few personal belongings, and gain a sense of pride in having something they can call their own, but it is also a crucial need for the orphanage as a whole. The orphanage was recently visited by the governing agency, and was written up for not having personal closets or storage for the children -- which is a regulation for all Baja orphan homes.
To bring them up to code, and avoid any risk of the orphanage being shut down or greatly fined, these personal storage spaces are necessary!
Additionally, I recently visited the orphanage, and I noticed how little food they had, and found out that not all of the kids even have complete uniforms and the right shoes for school. This made me very sad, and I felt compelled to raise even more money (than just the amount I set out for the personal storage spaces), to help with the missing uniform pieces and for an emergency food supply.
Through my "Molly's Hope Chest" project, I HOPE we can give these kids a better and more stable future.
Thank you for helping me help the orphans of Jesus Tribe.
