THE STORY:

Proper Freediving Education Saves Lives ::

The people of Molokai are subsistence fishers and hunters whereby utilising freediving/breathhold activities on a daily basis for survival. Freediving is a way of life on this island and when a life is lost through this activity it naturally sends shock waves through this tight knit island community. Sharing the F.I.I. Basic Freediving Safety training with the people of Molokai is our way of sharing our love and respect for this beautiful island, and it's people. By making this world class freediving training available to the Molokai community, we can greatly minimize the risk and increase freediving safety awareness throughout these islands.

13 Time World Record Freediver Martin Stepanek and his team of F.I.I. certified professionals will be running three F.I.I. Basic Freediving Safety courses over the period of 2 days from October 28-29, 2013. The training is made available pro Bono to any islander who practices breath-hold activities.

We need donations to assist in covering the expenses of this event. Expenses include travel expenses for all F.I.I. Instructors and crew donating their time and expertise for this event, books and training materials, certification fees, facility rentals, equipment, and much more.

The Molokai Freediving Safety Event is organized by Freediving Instructors International in conjunction with Ka Honua Momona International (501c3 nonprofit).

We hope you can support us in any small manner to make this event successful.
