BENEFITING: The Cancer Couch Foundation Inc
In the Fall of 2016 an idea started brewing. What if Halloween wasn't just about candy? What if a group of creative women took a risk, put their hearts together, added a musical beat and an element of surprise? On October 31, nearly 40 women of all ages, dressed as zombies, danced in sync to the beat of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in the middle of trick-or-treating in Fairfield, CT. These moms showed their unsuspecting, tech-savvy kids that old-fashion fun still reigns. With over 36K views on YouTube and an impromptu audience of hundreds of trick-or-treaters, the “Fairfield MOMbies” wowed the neighborhood. This out-of-the box adventure full of silly secrecy created a special bond of friendship and community. This inspired creator, founder, and MOMbie, Terry Davis, to use the attention for a bigger cause.
Did you know that one in eight women get breast cancer and so many moms are touched by it? The 2017 MOMbies decided that this year’s dance will honor patients everywhere and raise funds for breast cancer research. We dedicate this project to a dear friend and fellow MOMbie, as well as to all of the special people in each of our lives.
Please enjoy our video and help the MOMbies make a difference by donating to our CrowdRise to help us raise money for The Cancer Couch and to someday find a cure.
*, a 501(c)(3) organization, was created by our friend, Dr. Rebecca Timlin-Scalera whose mission is to accelerate research, treatment and someday find a cure for metastatic breast cancer. An unprecedented 100 percent of donations to The Cancer Couch are matched, and 100 percent goes directly to fund metastatic breast cancer research at two cutting edge labs at the world’s leading cancer centers, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Memorial Sloan Kettering.
