Disability is both a cause and a consequence of poverty and persons with disabilities are the poorest of the poor in their communities. This is because they are not only economically disempowered, but are culturally, politically and socially excluded from all the decision making processes of their respective communities.
Education remains an important tool and a strong weapon for development in any society because of its potential contribution to breaking the barriers of poverty in that society. Unfortunately, children with disabilities in Cameroon have not been able to gain access in the mainstream school system as expected due to the negative stereotypes linked to disability and a lack of interest by decision makers, where it is believed that 'disabled persons cannot live a fulfilling life' which I think is all wrong. They are not only marginalized, stigmatized, abused, rejected, neglected, oppressed but permanently excluded from attending the regular classroom system.
Inclusive Education involves the reorganisation of ordinary schools, where every mainstream school in the neighbourhood of each community is capable of accomodating every child regardless of their disabilities. It is a process of not only integrating but fully including children with disabilities and other disadvantaged children in mainstrem classes in a way that addresses and responds to their individual learning needs, thus fulfilling the rights to education for all as per the EFA-UNESCO initiatives.
We are pleading to individuals, groups, national and Internation NGOs, Governmental organisations and religious bodies to join us in raising considerable funds so we can together as a family make the world a better place for the rejected, the marginalized, the wretched of the earth and worse still, the excluded.
We shall be accountable for any dollar you contribute to make this project a success.
God will surely reward you for taking some time off and your love and interest in caring for the rejected and the abandoned. They are also God's creatures as well so we are appealing to any sympathiser to help us in this fight in assisting disabled persons so they can regain hope and smiles on their faces, they can also feel as belonging to their communities. Your little and kind donation will reward you much.
Remember, blessed is the hand that giveth than the one that taketh.
We need this to carry out awareness raising campaigns in communities and to train teachers on Special Education needs, sign language, braille writing, recruit carers, provide homes for homeless disabled children, provide white sticks and glasses, buying of braille machines, wheel chairs and improve classroom structures with ramps to about 5000 children with disabilities.
We honour your support.
YES, WE CAN MAKE IT.
