BENEFITING: THE BOARDERS AND STEWARDS OF THE MONASTERY
Philadelphia's Fairmount Park is one of the largest urban green spaces in the country. It consists of more than 9,200 acres of trails, woodlands and wetlands. Although owned by Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, it takes a community to sustain the buildings, grounds and trails.
That is where The Boarders and Stewards of the Monastery step in to help keep the park enjoyable for everyone. Our charter is to care for the six-acre historic complex off of Kitchen's Lane known as "The Monastery". We and the community rely on donations to ensure everyone can enjoy a sneak peak into 18th-century Philadelphia. By way of this effort, we also support access to horsemanship for both adults and children in an urban environment that would otherwise be lost.
Will you help support our modest project for 2015? We are in desperate need of roof and chimney repairs as well as painting and repointing.
