BENEFITING: GLEASONS GIVE A KID A DREAM
EVENT DATE: Nov 16, 2013
Monique is first and foremost a woman who’s dedicated herself to others.
A Brooklyn native, her work as a leader in the James E. Davis Foundation revolves around helping kids and ultimately serving as a role model to her two children and all those in her community.
The foundation which James started before he was gunned down in 2003 had the admirable goal of helping the inner city communities of New York City, specifically the children and teens.
Monique has pressed on admirably working closely with Gleason’s Give A Kid A Dream program as well as other local boxing gyms in order to get kids off the streets and create mentoring opportunities by encouraging them to channel their energy into boxing and the gym.
That’s in addition to organizing the annual Stop The Violence Walk in NYC which rallies not only the community but folks like boxing legend Evander Holyfield to band together to curtail violence.
Monique’s kind heart, generosity and positive outlook combine to make one inspirational woman and an amazing crusader for children.
