DRC Home is an orphanage founded by Monique Kabugho Murandya in Beni, DRC (Congo). Currently, Monique cares for 7O children (this is a constantly changing number). She is supported only by the local community and our donations. Beni DRC is one of the most dangerous unstable places on earth. A place that most people in the US have never even heard of let alone thought about. Over the past decades - especially the past 5 years Beni has been the epicenter of some of the worse terrorism on the planet. The children have been orphaned, abandoned, and literally thrown away, some still have good parent are ill or injured or for other reasons just can't take care of them and have left them with Monique. Monique runs DRC Home with the help of less than 10 adults most of who have not been paid anything. They need food, clothing, school fees, medical care and so much more. My personal goal is a selfish one - I want to celebrate my 50th birthday by raising 50,000 dollars (more) asap. Earlier this year we raised almost almost 27 thousand. In the coming months I'm going to focus more energy on helping make this orphanage more sustainable but can't do that without the help of some of my friends. I hope you join me.
