THE STORY:

I’m Joe Pardavila (AKA Monk) the sardonic but slightly loveable Executive Producer of the Scott & Todd Show on WPLJ in New York City.
On March 2nd 2005, my father Arturo Pardavila II passed away from a decade long battle with Huntington’s Disease. He left behind a one of a kind wife & mother and two annoying sons.
If you’re not familiar with Huntington’s Disease, HD is neurodegenerative genetic disorder that affects muscle coordination and leads to cognitive decline and dementia.
You wouldn’t wish HD on your worst enemy.
According to the HDSA, there are 30,000 people in the U.S. diagnosed with HD and each of their siblings and children has a 50% chance of developing it. HD, like Alzheimer and Parkinson's, takes a person away from their loved ones and the rest of the world long before they die.
On November 6th I will run my first ever marathon, but not just any marathon, The ING New York City Marathon.
I am running in memory of my amazing father and raising money to benefit the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
Thanks for your continued support to the cause.
Thanks, and God Bless.
Joe
