THE STORY:

The Montana Thunder Blades . A Montana Elite AA Hockey Program. A non-profit organization since 1994. Bantam bid for U14 USA Hockey National Champions.

The sport of hockey develops skills on the ice that foster a foundation for a lifetime. Hockey’s unique source of physical fitness promotes healthy living, self-confidence, pride, focus and responsibility. With the need for quick decision making, concentration, and collaboration with teammates on ice, the sport of hockey teaches invaluable life skills that create better workers, creators, and contributors to society.

The Montana Thunder Blades are a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization that provides a high level of competitive hockey for players residing in the state of Montana. These young men come from ten different cities in Montana and travel great distances throughout the year to train and play together. They often arrive at rinks before the sun rises and leave after it sets in their commitment to their team and their personal growth. Maintaining academic excellence is a must for all players who multitask their responsibilities as athletes, students, and community citizens with grace. As this u14 Bantam team has developed over the past 2 seasons together, they have experienced defeats that taught them resiliency, suffered injuries that taught them grit, and earned hard fought successes that taught them humility and the importance of perseverance.

Montana Thunder Blades’ history of success: The Montana Thunder Blades’ program offers talented players the opportunity to take their skills to the next level. More than half the players from the 1994 team went on to play Junior Hockey and several went on to play college hockey. Additionally, the 1999 team moved 9 players to Juniors AAA hockey at the age of 15. Former Thunder Blade Jake Doty currently plays for the St Louis Blues Organization. Throughout Thunder Blades’ 23 year history, they have won 2 National Championships as well as 1 silver and 2 bronze medals at this prestigious tournament. Why should you consider a donation?

While hockey continues to grow in Montana, quality opportunities to compete in high level play remain limited due to our small population and vast size. The young men on the U14 Thunder Blades team have a bonafide bid to win the AA Bantam National Championship this April in Miami, FL. The team is traveling throughout the Northwestern US in preparation for their invitation to compete at Nationals. These gifted young men need your help to make this dream a reality. Your dollars will not only impact the growth of these young players in the sport of hockey and their exposure to increased opportunities, but will ultimately help to foster strong fathers, employers, leaders, inventors, and teachers for the future in the state of Montana.

Your corporate or private donation is fully tax deductible and will go to support: Airfare for 20 team players and 3 coaches to Miami, FL in April 2017 to compete in the USA Hockey National Championships Ground transportation in the Miami, FL area Hotel and Accommodations for 20 team players and 3 coaches in Miami, FL Tournament Fees for USA Hockey Nationals Coaching Fees for the season of training, tournaments, and National Championships.
