BENEFITING: NEIGHBORHOOD MINISTRIES INC
Dear Friends and Family,
This summer I have been given the opportunity to work as a summer intern for Neighborhood Ministries. For those of you who may not know Neighborhood Ministries is a Church that was created in hopes to bring the community together and form long-term relationships with those it serves. The church has its busiest moment in the summer. It hosts a programed called Kids Club where about 500 hundred kinder to six graders go too! They also do a two week camp in Northern Phoenix and a camp in Colorado that is reward for the Jr. High leadership group. The summer also bring varies activities to Neighborhood like Lake day and Carnival Day which brings a bigger crowd then kids club. My job as an intern will be to help makes these incredible experiences happen. As an intern one is behind the scenes doing much work out in the hot Phoenix sun.
Last summer I was blessed with the opportunity of being a summer intern. I was so new to the church I wasn’t certain exactly what I was getting into. I started on a hot summer day and we came into a classroom setting, there we had discussions on God and our role in society. I can unquestionably say I had never learned so much. I was overwhelmed with the power of God and his words. I became even more patient in my dream to be a community leader and to help end poverty. I always knew I wanted to better the lives of those around me but I did not understand the importance of God in that process until i was part of the internship. I was more educated in my faith but also found joy and love from new faces. I was also giving the opportunity to build everlasting relationships with the people of Neighborhood Ministries. Through all the hard, sweaty work the summer gave me it was so beautiful to see the smiles in the final outcome.
I am very excited to continue learning and growing this summer with Neighborhood Ministries and I need plenty of support to do so! Since the church is a non-profit organization with a 501c3 satus they ask their interns to raise their own funds for their summer salary. It would be a true honor if you would support me on this incredible experience and also invest in the church. If it’s not too much to ask for you can fund me by making donating to Neighborhood Ministries and writing out my name, Montserrat Arredondo, on the memo line.
