Organized by: Rusk House
Over the summer of 2015, Rusk Eating House of Davidson College sought a change in its philanthropic focus. Known for its impressive food and high GPA on campus, Rusk women wanted to connect those two assets in a way that benefited the local community. Rusk found a great way to connect academics to nutrition through a new program, Moo Meals. Moo Meals reaches students from low income families through three local elementary schools in Mooresville, North Carolina. Through Moo Meals, Rusk provides supplementary nutrition to about 60 families, but would love to increase this number with more funds. Rusk is currently working on two large-scale philanthropic events--Cowabunga and Rusk's 2016 Color Run. Cowabunga will enable students, faculty, staff, and community members to mingle before students choose their classes for the coming semester while learning more about hunger and its prevalence in our area. Rusk's 2016 Color Run will take runners and walkers on a route around campus, throughout which they will be sprayed with colorful powder. The proceeds from each event and this page will be used to fund Moo Meals and donate to No Kid Hungry, an organization combatting hunger on a national scale. Rusk would love your support in our service endeavors, whether it is attending Cowabunga, running/walking in Rusk's 2016 Color Run, donating to Moo Meals, or making a cash donation via this website! Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
