On Saturday, June 13, we are thrilled to participate in the inaugural Hudson River Park Games (The Games), a competitive team pentathlon where we’ll compete against other teams in volleyball, dodgeball, flag football, kayaking and obstacle course. By taking part in The Games we have committed to raising funds for Hudson River Park, the waterfront park that hugs Manhattan’s Westside shoreline for a 4-mile stretch from Chambers Street to 59th (a nearly 550-acre footprint). The Park is enjoyed by millions of New Yorkers and visitors every year, but most don’t realize Hudson River Park receives no government funds for its operations and maintenance, which is instead supported by limited revenues generated within the Park and private donations.
The funds we raise will support upkeep of horticulture and landscaping, free events, environmental programs, and ongoing pier maintenance. The unique needs of a waterfront park present a myriad of financial challenges to be met, and without your help, public access to the waterfront cannot be sustained.
Together with our fundraising efforts and your donation, we are making a real difference, to the sustainability of the Park and ensuring a future for this gorgeous waterfront haven. Please show your support for the park by making a tax-deductible donation today, and help keep this gorgeous natural space (which is in high demand in NYC) up and running for all to enjoy!
