The Moquah community is part of the Pilsen Township est. in the late 1800s. Since its establishment it was a community of farming and logging families. The community of Moquah grew when the railroad had a stop; it included a post office, small general store, cheese factory and a school for the children. When the railroad stopped their service to the area the community held on for many years but slowly the cheese factory closed, the store left and in the late 1950s the school burned down. These were all an integral part of the community. But as the population aged and families moved out the community started to fracture.
With the recent growth of new younger families moving into the area our Womans and Mens clubs would like to start bringing the community together again. Providing an area for families to meet would be a good start. We thought a playground area would be the way to begin; unfortunately our current playground is over 45+ years old and in need of replacement.
Funds raised from this page will be able to give the children of this community a new playground.
