My Mother, Lola died at the age of 70 from a rare form of cancer. My sister and I knew her to be firm, militant, loyal and a no nonsense lady that would give you all that she had. She fought an enduring battle but she did not lose. Her legacy still lives on through her family, children and grandchildren. My sister and I knew her as Mom. She was strong, loving, funny, giving, understanding and forgiving. She taught us what it means to have compassion, forgive and to do what is right in any situation. Never short of telling it like it is, my mom always encouraged family and friends to encourage to be the best that you are.. I learned how to be compassionate, loving and giving from her. The impact she’s had on others made me think, what's my journey? What’s my passion? Dragonflies. It was interesting as they lowered my mother’s casket, a dragonfly came straight towards me. I almost lost my footing and my friends and family thought I was trying to jump in the grave with my mother. The dragonfly kept flying towards me and I had to keep ducking and dodging. That little dragonfly was something else! I miss my mother dearly. About one year after her death, I was able to start thinking about my business venture Morgan Taylor Scrubs (MTS). Clarity. A trip to boost creativity was in order. What a better way to get artistic inspiration by visiting the cultural rich and diverse city of New Orleans with friends. We decided to take an alligator boat tour and of course, I found myself dodging yet another dragonfly. I literally almost jumped out of the boat due to fear. Finally, I calmed down and started to admire the dragonfly's grace and beauty after my best friend said "Dragonflies are good luck." A dragonfly is said to represent a sign to move past illusions and embrace inspiration potential. It also symbolizes freedom of expression, uniqueness and breaking free of illusions. MTS plan is to break free of the illusions, change the dynamics and expectation of traditional scrubs. I felt this was a symbol that my mom would always be with me. For me it was official, The dragonfly would be my So, now I can answer the question that MTS is my passion and I look forward to bringing you new scrubs, with a twist!
