Welcome to the fundraising page created to support Morgan Hosbrough’s efforts to continue striving to reach her Paralympic dreams!
Morgan is a 17 year old high school senior who has plans of attending college after graduation. Not only does Morgan stay busy with school and sports, but has volunteered over 700 hours the past four years.
She has been playing the competitive sport of sled hockey for the past three years with the local Ohio Blades and has loved every minute of the competition and camaraderie. In fact, Morgan tried out and was selected to be a part of the 2013-2014 USA Women’s National Sled Hockey team.
The costs for participating in tournaments includes fees, travel, hockey sticks and picks, uniforms/pads, gloves, helmet, and even the purchase and maintenance of specialized equipment. All of this adds up to quite a lot. The equipment for sled hockey alone can cost around $1,000. Adaptive equipment is specially measured and manufactured to fit the individual athlete. Currently, Morgan is borrowing some of her equipment, but needs to invest in her own.
In addition, the entire USA Women's National Sled Hockey team is working hard to attend the 2014 World Cup and 2018 Paralympics. The team is in need of donations to help pay for training, reserved ice time, camps, and so much more.
Will you please support Morgan's sled hockey dreams by making a donation?
Morgan truly appreciates your support!
If you would like to support Morgan, but prefer not to do so online, or have any questions about her disability, goals, or donating directly to the USA Womens Sled Hockey Team please contact her mom, Dyonne Weaver, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
